How To?

How to measure your doors?

We DO NOT accept opening sizes, your measurements MUST be for your doors.

  1. Our standard overlay is 1/2". When measuring for your door add 1" to the width and 1" to the height. This will allow for the a 1/2" overlay on all four sides.

Example: If your opening is 14 inches wide and 28 inches tall, than your door size should be 15 inches wide and 29 inches tall.

  2. If you are measuring for a pair of doors for one opening, than measure the opening. Add 1 inch to the height and add 7/8 (.875) of an inch to the width and divide the width by 2, this gives you the size of one door (remember you will need 2 of these doors).

Example: If your opening is 27 inches wide and 12 inches tall, your width will be 27 + .875 = 27.875 / 2 = 13.937 or 13 and 15/16 inches. Your height would be 13 inches.

If you are measuring for a pair of doors for one cabinet with a stile POST in between, than measure each door separately as you would normally.

REMEMBER: When ordering your doors specify the type of hinges you want as well as what side of the door you would like them drilled.

How to measure your drawer fronts?

We DO NOT accept opening sizes, your measurements MUST be for your drawer fronts.

  1. Your drawer front should be the SAME width of the door. When measuring the height, measure the opening and add 1 inch. (this allows for a 1/2" inch overlay)

REMEMBER: Verify that there is clearance for the 1/2" inch overlay in between your drawer front and the bottom of the counter top, as well as, the bottom of your drawer front and the door below it.

Also remember when dealing with inside corners, that you add enough filler strip to allow the drawers to open without hitting the door hardware halfway.
